I agree, Sue - it's Noro Silk garden and will become part of a "noro stripe scarf" for Mark. Bought in John Lewis today and wound into a cake because those loosely wound Noro balls drive me nuts!!
I loved the way the layers of colour showed up in the wound pattern from my ball winder.
Sometimes, an Elegant Sufficiency just isn't enough. In 2008 I responded to a challenge to post a photo a day, in the company of one or two online friends. The habit of taking a daily photograph is far too good to lose however and so the project continues. Words and thoughts will stay on the original blog - here, I hope the pictures will speak for themselves.
I've formulated my own set of "rules" for myself to follow:
Though some entries will be post-dated, the actual photo will be taken on the right day.
I'll post the photo as it was taken and not manipulate it in any way.
I knit, I sew, I embroider, I paint and draw and occasionally keep a journal. I do funny things with paper, paint and glue, I make books and other stuff. Not much of this is of any use (with the possible exception of the socks I knit) but I find fun in everything I do. I love colour, texture, pattern and want to do it all perfectly - preferably in the next five minutes.
When I'm not making stuff myself, I'm teaching someone else how to do it (or teaching someone else to teach someone else to do it)

Those colours are so yumptious - what is it and what is its destiny?
