Me too Dorothy. I was trying to get a sharp image in front of a blurry background and nearly got it that time. Trouble is, whenever I take my camera into the garden, it seems that a breeze whips up and I get a blurry image in front of a pin sharp background!
It is amazing how often the wind gets up as soon as one gets the camera out I agree. I have taken to taking one with the flash and one without in the hope that the flash will freeze it... trouble is... it is often too bright then.
Sometimes, an Elegant Sufficiency just isn't enough. In 2008 I responded to a challenge to post a photo a day, in the company of one or two online friends. The habit of taking a daily photograph is far too good to lose however and so the project continues. Words and thoughts will stay on the original blog - here, I hope the pictures will speak for themselves.
I've formulated my own set of "rules" for myself to follow:
Though some entries will be post-dated, the actual photo will be taken on the right day.
I'll post the photo as it was taken and not manipulate it in any way.
I knit, I sew, I embroider, I paint and draw and occasionally keep a journal. I do funny things with paper, paint and glue, I make books and other stuff. Not much of this is of any use (with the possible exception of the socks I knit) but I find fun in everything I do. I love colour, texture, pattern and want to do it all perfectly - preferably in the next five minutes.
When I'm not making stuff myself, I'm teaching someone else how to do it (or teaching someone else to teach someone else to do it)
